Motorbike and car rental rules and conditions on Bali

Please study the terms of the following vehicle rental agreement between Need.Rent rental company in cooperation with BaliHelper and the renter. Confirming your order for our motorbike and car rental services you automatically agree to the terms and conditions of our company.

1. Rental terms and conditions for booking / payment

  • 1.1 Minimum rental period of our vehicles is 7 days. We can provide a motorbike or car for a shorter period, but the price will still be for 7 days.

  • 1.2 Rental period of the vehicle must be agreed upon in advance and registered in the rental agreement upon receiving. In case of rental period extension, we must be informed at least 48 hours prior to the end of original rental agreement. If the vehicle used by client is already booked for the following dates, we are offering to swap the vehicle for an alternative one if such would be available. Extension period price is calculated using standard rates of our services.

  • 1.3 Full rental payment is to be made upon receiving the vehicle on the Bali island. Payment for our rental service should be made in cash using USD, EUR, AUD or IDR at the current exchange rate. You can also make a full payment in rubles at the current exchange rate of the Central Bank on the day of the payment, but prior notification must be given.

  • 1.4 If you contact us while your stay on Bali or did not have time to make a booking of desired vehicle prior to arrival - we will try to deliver the selected model ASAP if available or offer a good alternative.

  • 1.5 According to our company rules the vehicle rental agreement is signed upon delivery after full payment has been provided.

  • 1.6 If cancellation of vehicle rental on the client’s initiative occurs, we return 50% of the amount from the remaining term. There are not returns in following cases:

    • If you chose the minimum rental period (7 days)

    • If you chose long term rent with fixed price and decide to cancel after 12 or more days have passed.

2. Drivers license and delivery & pick up rules

  • 2.1Officially within the territory of Indonesia to drive on car or motorbike you must carry international drivers license of a corresponding category.

  • 2.2Our official working hours are 08:00 – 20:00 Bali time (UTC/GMT + 8 hours). We work every day without holidays and weekends. During the working hours all our english / russian speaking managers are available through the contacts provided on the website.

  • 2.3The rental price of our vehicles includes free delivery and return if the following conditions are met:

    • Delivery and return times are within the working hours of our company

    • Renter must provide delivery/return location and time 24 hours prior or earlier.

    • Delivery location is within the 25 km distance of our company office which is located in the Dalung area. Zone of free delivery includes following areas: Kuta, Seminyak, Kerobokan, Canggu, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Sanur, Bukit, Denpasar and south part of Ubud.

  • 2.4Please contact and consult with the manager if you wish to inquire about the possibility and prices of delivery in far areas (Amed, Candidasa, Lovina, Balian, Medewi, north part of Ubud).

  • 2.5Based on our company policy all the vehicles provided come with a full petrol tank. We ask all clients the same on return. In case the tank is empty/not full, we ask to provide the money for the missing fuel.

  • 2.6If the renter is unable to return the vehicle personally – manager should be notified in advance with all the details.

3. Vehicle insurance and client liability

  • 3.1Our company provides full insurance option which covers all damage of traffic accidents/falling and hijacking of vehicle for all motorbikes (scooters and motorcycles) within additional cost. Otherwise, if this option with insurance has not been added full risk responsibility for the motorbike remains for the client. The type of insurance for each vehicle must be indicated in the rental agreement in the appropriate clause.

  • 3.2For all rented cars we provide standard insurance with minimum client liability(franchise) without any additional charges. Renting a car from our company does not require any additional deposit/franchise. Upon receiving a car on Bali, you are only required to pay the full rent amount of the chosen model and additional services. (child seat, sim card, etc.) if such are included. Liability of the renter within insurance franchise is only paid upon the occurrence of traffic accident/crash. The amount of insurance franchise should be prescribed in the rental agreement and is dependent on the model of chosen car.

  • 3.3Damage costs set for the franchise amount specified in the rental agreement should be paid by the renter. Damages that go over the amount of insurance franchise are covered by insurance.

  • 3.4We also provides extended insurance cover for cars that defrays any damage or hijacking. Prices for full insurance (extended cover) for standard car models (Toyota Avanza, Toyota Agya, etc) are 50$ for short term rent (7-14 days) and 90$ for long term rent (15-30 days). For other models - please contact our manager.

  • 3.5Car and motorbike insurance does not cover damages in following cases:

    • Flat tire/cut tire due to the fault of the renter – responsibility to eliminate damages is laid upon renter (fixing/pumping tires). If the tire is worn out or ripped – responsibility to eliminate damages is laid upon our company.

    • Necessary replacement of car battery due to full discharge because of renters’ fault (car lights left on etc.)

    • Deliberate deterioration of the vehicle

    • Using the car off public usage roads (beach, fields, jungle, mountains, etc.)

  • 3.6In case of an accident in which rented car has been damaged, the renter must notify our company within the 24 hours of the accident and provide required information. If the required information was not provided within set time limit the renter takes full responsibility for all damages.

  • 3.7It is prohibited to fix car at any service (including official dealers) without notifying and receiving confirmation from the rental beforehand. Our company will not cover the costs for repairs that were carried out without prior notification and confirmation from our side. We are also eligible to put a fine of 100$+ sum of the car damages if actions are taken before we are notified or if we do not give you instructions to do so.

  • 3.8The renter takes full responsibility in case of damage caused to third parties because of an accident.

  • 3.9The renter takes full responsibility for vehicle and all further consequences that may occur caused by providing the vehicle to third party which is not mentioned in rental agreement.

  • 3.10The renter takes full responsibility for any damage caused to vehicle on non-public roads (beach, field, mountain, jungle, etc.)

  • 3.11In case the helmet is lost or receives significant damage the renter will be charged for the price of a new helmet.

  • 3.12In case the key of a vehicle is lost the renter must compensate full price of ordering a duplicate.

  • 3.13All cars and motorbikes are provided with original registration documents of vehicle. If lost – the fine of 80$ must be paid.

  • 3.14In case the renter violates conditions of this agreement we has all rights to take the vehicle back without compensating.

  • 3.15Our company does not take any responsibility for damage, loses, injuries and deaths to renter or to third parties caused by renter in case of road accidents. We does not take responsibility for failing to fulfil their obligations caused by problems/factors that are in no shape or form controlled by the company, such as administrative acts, fire, floods, natural disasters, war and terrorism. Our company does not take any responsibility for any sort of illegal actions, or actions taken against the laws of Republic of Indonesia.

4. Extra service and opportunuty

  • 4.1Our company provides additional technical assistance. This service is free if the problem that has occurred was not created by renter’s fault and the help is needed within our working hours. In case of a problem caused by a renter we take 25$ for this service.

  • 4.2For clients who travel with children we also offer baby car seat (up to 18kg) for additional 30$ on any time period up to 1 month. Please inform us beforehand if you require a baby seat in your car.

  • 4.3When renting a motorbike our company is obliged to provide 2 new helmets in good condition. We can also provide kids helmets if asked, without any additional costs

  • 4.4Please provide required helmet size to our manager beforehand. If the helmet provided does not fit you in size or any other feature you can visit our office in Canggu area and pick a replacement.

  • 4.5We can install a special folding surfracks for transporting surfboards on most models of our motorbikes without additional cost. Please notify our managers in advance of the need to install this mount on your motorbike.

  • 4.6Upon request we can provide local 4G SIM-card with preinstalled internet package with vehicle delivery for extra fee: 20$ with 25gb of internet and balance for local calls. Due to new regulations of SIM-card sales in Indonesia you will have to send a photo of your passport in advance to register SIM-card to your name. To order SIM-card please get in touch with our manager. Upon arrival to Bali you would only have to install Google Maps App on your mobile device, this is the best navigation tool on the island for now.

5. Limitations and additional terms

  • 5.1Renewal of this agreement for another tenant with saving of the current lease terms is possible at an additional cost of $ 20.

  • 5.2All the vehicles rented from our company have unlimited mileage.

  • 5.3All rented vehicles are not allowed to leave the territory of Bali island.
